MÉRIDA

Spent 5 days in Mérida with some of my favorite ladies in April. Many bottles of white wine and tortilla chips consumed.

NEW YORK NEW YORK

Quick & dirty cell phone snap diary from a brief work trip to New York earlier this month.
Highlights include: breakfast at Dimes, Dover Street Market (!!!), Mast Books, a lemon poppyseed donut from Dough, ROLU at Patrick Parrish and cute animals on the street.

GREY DESERT

Joshua Tree National Park

Brought my camera on a solo day trip to Joshua Tree back in June and snapped a bunch of photos, unaware I had loaded it with black and white film a few weeks prior. At first I was bummed out that I had "wasted" certain shots I was envisioning in color, but I actually prefer these to most the color ones I took. Should shoot in black and white more often.

I JUST WANNA RIDE MY MOTORCYCLE

Earthwork by Robert Morris, Johnson Pit #30

Like I mentioned in my previous post, the year is already rapidly flying by. I turned 21 yesterday and I'm not quite sure how the date snuck up on me so quickly. It feels like it was New Year's Eve just last week, when I drove up to Seattle with great friends for dim sum, Totokaelo and book shopping. Arlo Guthrie playing on the radio as we detoured into Kent along the way to run all around this incredible Earthwork until we were exhausted and starving. Even though by the time we got home I was so tired that I only managed to stay awake to see the first few minutes of the new year, it was the best way I could imagine ending and beginning the year.

KYOTO FOLIAGE: PART TWO

Saihō-ji, Kinkaku-ji, the Bamboo Grove, and other temples in Kyoto.

DAY / NIGHT

More photos from Kyoto.
Slowly but surely making my way through all my trip photos. The thing about shooting only film is footing the $100 bill for having it all developed and scanned when you get back. I do love the anticipation though, a little bit of a wait can be very rewarding.

107 DEGREES

Spent the weekend sweating poolside in Palm Springs with a bunch of babes in bikinis. The resort vacation thing isn't really my style but it was nice to get away from the city for a few nights. And photobooths are always fun.

PART TWO: FILM

Plant life in Palm Springs.

PART ONE: DIGITAL

Spent three days in Palm Springs for an intended relaxing post-finals vacation. Unfortunately, neither my boyfriend nor myself are very good at "relaxing". Sitting by the pool and lounging in the sun isn't really what we excel at. I think we spent about an hour in the pool total, and instead kept ourselves busy exploring Joshua Tree. The most surreal landscape I've ever seen. Like something belonging to a whole other planet.
