still dreaming of Portland. ;_; I read this book called Keshiki Bonsai the other day at Barnes and Noble - have you heard of it? The author left JAPAN to study BONSAI in PORTLAND (lol) but on his return he established a branch (no pun intended) called Keshiki Bonsai that's more geared towards a casual landscaping type of bonsai specifically for the home... to be placed indoors. He particular loves the way it looks with old weathered European furniture. ._. I don't know about the furniture, but the bonsai is great! And then I thought about how wonderful the landscape is in Portland... not even the surrounding trails, mountains, trees and ocean with its giant boulders, but the foliage of Portland itself... the infinitely layered texture of the trees... sooooo beautiful! And then I was no longer surprised that this author left Japan to go to Portland to study bonsai.
