light bright

  • Received these jeans a week or so ago from Genetic Denim. They fit like a dream not to mention completely satisfy my craving for light denim. These will be so good this summer. Worn with a selfmade crop top and Urban Outfitters bra.
  • My room is an absolute mess thanks to all the sewing I've been doing. Very excited about two pieces in particular.
  • Ordered these Pierre Hardy for Gap shoes in white. Can't wait for them to arrive.
  • Vanessa drew a photo of me wearing my swacket! :)
  • Classes start again Monday...

the swacket

Long overdue, here are the many ways to wear the Swacket (although really, there are endless possibilities).

When Zana first started posting about Harputs Market's new clothing like, Harputs Own, I was immediately smitten. The idea of creating a line of perfected, versatile statement pieces that will last a lifetime in your wardrobe is well, perfect. And being a huge fan of garments that can be worn multiple ways, I fell in love with the swacket and knew I had to get my hands on one. When it arrived in the mail, it was nothing less than what I expected. I spent a good hour playing around with the different ways to wear it and parading around in front of the mirror. Haha.

Definitely check out the other Harputs Own pieces here. I've got a huge crush on the leather dress.

store spaces

Last night I received an e-mail from Frol, the store manager of Damir Doma, about the opening of the first Damir Doma store in Paris. I was very excited to see the photos as store spaces always intrigue me. I love seeing the atmosphere of a store be immediately recognizable as an extension of the same aesthetic the clothes derive from. In fact, interior decor interests me just as much as fashion. I get just as much pleasure looking at a beautiful room as I do looking at beautiful clothes. It's even more satisfying when the two are combined. ;)

Also, some photos popped up on TFS of a new Dries Van Noten store that I wanted to share.

p.s. I'll be updating the Etsy store with some pieces later this afternoon.

heather grey

This particular photo of Ashley Olsen has been in my mind for a good two months, all the while willing me to make a heather grey maxi skirt of my own. Now that I've got a bit more free time on my hands I gave it a go this morning. It's kind of perfect with this powder blue Clu tee I picked up at Frances May yesterday afternoon. Portlanders, definitely check this store out. They carry Rachel Comey, Alexander Wang, Clu, Duskin and APC to name a few. Here's the link to their online shop too.

organize

Busy day. Looks like I won't be getting much rest during spring break.
I'll have lots to post in the following days though. I'm working on some more stuff for the Etsy shop too, so stay tuned! :)

Keeping things simple.
I plan on lazing about today, but I did make peanut butter cookies this morning.

I used this recipe if you want to make your own.

3.19.09

Well, I'm finally finished with finals (hayyy alliteration... sorry, I really shouldn't be allowed to speak until I get some sleep) which means it's spring break for me. Thank god. Here's what I wore to give a presentation and finish my last final of the term.

McQueen for Target mesh cardigan, F21 tank, AA pencil skirt, thrifted boots

p.s. These detail shots from Dries are too good not to mention.
This is how color is done.

Bodkin

& Tony Maticevski

Overall not a huge fan of this collection, but Alyona in that white gown killed me dead.
