AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT...

OSKLEN CROP TOP / AMERICAN APPAREL SHORTS / ACNE PANTS

You know when come across a piece that is so off-base from what you normally wear or would feel comfortable in but it just inexplicably DOES things to you the moment you put it on? Since I've been staying away from shopping recently, I haven't experienced that feeling in a long time but this weird slash sexy scuba-y Osklen crop top is exactly one of those pieces; I tried it on at Una as a lark and ended up falling in love. I feel like I stole it out of the closet of someone 1948x sexier and more confident than myself but I suppose that's probably the exact reason why I love it.

THROWN FORMS

The first few thrown forms out of my first ceramics class. Still needs work.

ESCAPING THE DOLDRUMS

Apiece Apart FW13 (photos: Style.com)

Trudging my way through gray days hasn't been especially fun this winter (thanks SAD!), but even though I can't wait for spring and summer to arrive in full force, this collection from Apiece Apart has me wishing I could linger a little longer in the winter months, if only to wear these clothes. My obsession with Apiece Apart is now in the height of its fangirl stage and I will probably continue to spam collection after collection on this blog, but how could I not be into a line with such a well executed clean, modern, and artistic vision? I feel giddy.

ÂME DEBOUT

(photos by Mark Ho-Kane, Âme Debout Cy sweater)

How refreshing to see a slow knitwear line, hand-knit in the US and made from responsibly produced wool. Lately I feel too fatigued by the constant cycle of fashion, especially the fast fashion that ends up trickling down into distilled trends. Trends bore me. What excites me is a brand emerging like Âme Debout, something slow, thoughtful, practiced. It feels much more "now" than the latest off the runway.
