There wasn't a whole bunch from New York that wowed me, but when things were good they were spot on.
Looks from Alexander Wang, Reed Krakoff, Calvin Klein and The Row.

Finally back in Portland! I had tons of fun in New York, but I am happy to be back at home. I'm especially thankful for
the warmer weather. I never thought I'd be so thrilled about 50 degree weather.

On my last day in the city I finally got around to a bit of tourist-y fun and went to the Museum of Natural History with
Danny and David and their friends Ryan, Alice and Kayla (I think... I'm terrible with names!). Anyway, after the Natural
History Museum we wandered around Central Park which was completely blanketed in snow. So incredibly beautiful...
Mental note for the next time I'm in New York: visit more museums/do more sightseeing in general.

Day 1 Complete
Long first day. I flew into JFK at around 8:30am. Got settled at the hotel. Then Michael Angel, Bensoni and Jenni Kayne and
met up with Jillian for some yummies at Crumbs. Unfortunately I missed Jeremy Laing and Julian Louie and ended up taking a
much needed nap instead. Then I hit up the 7 is 10 party along with Philip, Raych, Taghrid, Jillian, Rich and Anna & afterwards
had a small feast. I've got to run again but eventually I'll be posting runway reviews on Chictopia as well as more photos here
on the blog.

Already looking a lil' haggard
Quick post from the airport before I take off for New York. I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off the
last couple of days- finishing projects for school and finalizing plans for fashion week. Today, especially. I only just had the
chance to eat something an hour or two ago. Anyway, I'll be in New York from the 12th-16th, attending shows and
Chictopia's Social Influence Summit as well as the IFB's Evolving Influence Conference.
Hope you see some of you there!

The best thing about birthdays? The sweet stuff! Along with a beautiful champagne cake, for my birthday my mom bought
these adorable colored Krabby Patties (as my sister calls them) aka macarons. These are are Ken's Bakery over on 21st.

What struck me about them at first was their size. Supersized in comparison to previous macarons I've encountered. And
since I've only actually tasted macarons once before I didn't really have a basis to compare them to, but I will say that
the cranberry one was delicious. Perfectly light and fluffy. The caramel was pretty good as well, with just a hint of coffee
flavor. The chocolate... not so great. Pretty bland and the filling was hard. If any of you Portlanders know of any other
bakeries that make even better macarons, please do share!

ps. Thanks to everyone for the super sweet birthday wishes! Finally 17!
