Prismatic Wonders
I finished with finals last week so in theory I should be posting more often but instead I've turned into an unproductive blob. In the past three days I've had two Mighty Boosh marathons and eaten copious amounts of chocolate-covered peppermint cookies and bagel bites... ANYWAY, I'm kicking myself back into blogging shape and finally getting around to posting all the content that's built up over the past couple weeks.

On Saturday, I helped set up Studio J for their first open studio event featuring the jewelry designs of Hazel Cox, photographs by Bruce Wolf and Pearl+ soaps. As you can probably gather from the fact that I never wear nor post about jewelry, it's not really my thing, but there's something very appealing to Hazel's designs. Her pieces are beautifully crafted and visually interesting without being overworked or excessively flashy as I find most jewelry to be. It's all very organic feeling.

The display looked especially beautiful once the sun had set.

Beautiful Complexity
Somehow these photos of my visit to the complexgeometries showroom while I was in New York ended up forgotten on my camera but when I saw their video on Project White T-Shirt (which I managed to get caught in for the first 3 or 4 seconds while tying my shoes) I instantly went searching for them.

Adam and Clayton very kindly allowed me to stop by the studio they had set up for a couple days during NYFW to check out and try on much of their new S/S 2010 collection and let me tell you, they've got some amazing stuff in store for you. Check out the lookbook on their website. Although I didn't get photos of the individual pieces, some of my favorite were the extra long mesh leggings that can be worn as a bodysuit (which you can see in the video I mentioned before), a multi-functional sheer piece that required Clayton's assistance to put on and a couple pieces in a pale, greyish pink. Beautiful stuff. I'm eagerly awaiting this collection to pop up on their webshop.

A huge but very belated thank you to Clayton and Adam! It was so great to finally meet you both!

ps. Be sure to check out Project White T-Shirt. The project was thought up by Ritchie Chan, who invited 31 designers from around the world to transform the plain white t-shirt into something more- whatever they wanted. The results are slowly being revealed on the Project White T-Shirt website and there will also be exhibitions at Welcome Hunters and Space 15 Twenty in L.A. Eventually the pieces will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to Designers Against Aids.
