rick owens & teen vogue

(tFS)
I finally got around to checking out the mens F/W 09 collections yesterday and was especially blown away by Rick Owens. He totally killed it. It's no surprise that it was a great collection- Rick Owens never disappoints- but what amazes me about him is that while his collections are all consistent with the Rick Owens aesthetic, they never become boring or tedious. I always feel like I'm seeing something fresh.

Anyway, when I got dressed this morning I had that particular collection in mind.

Also, thanks for all the sweet comments about my feature in Teen Vogue! It's a huge honor to be featured in such a large magazine and I owe it all to you guys, my amazing readers. <3

I actually haven't got my hands on the issue just get, but Eva has scans on her blog, here.

I was super psyched and a little confused get a package in the mail this morning. It took me a while to remember that I had received an e-mail from Sue over at Urban Outfitters a week or two ago offering to send me some goodies. Anyhow, I opened it up and was delighted to find this Silence & Noise poncho/cape and a beautiful scarf (I'll take pictures later). I immediately threw the cape on over what I was wearing and danced around in it for a bit before taking pictures. :)

Also, a couple crappy Photobooth pics of my latest sewing ventures. I promise better photos soon!

experimentation

Yesterday afternoon I had a bit of free time so I decided to play around with my one million and one ways to wear Pleasure Principle dress (which I bought at Harputs Market in SF). Also, it turns out these shoes are actually incredibly comfy as long as they aren't worn with tights.

For those who asked, the heel on these shoes is nearly 5 inches. They come just short of my Marni wedges. They're also a bit more uncomfortable than I expected. Still walkable, but I expect some crunched toes tonight... Oh well.

Enjoy your weekend, my lovelies!

Ever since putting these beauties on my feet in the Barneys dressing room (although they were several sizes too large) back in September, I've had them on my mind. And after scouring eBay for several months, a pair finally popped up in my size. Despite missing an ankle strap (which I never really liked anyway), they were in great condition and relatively cheap. I rationalized the purchase as a very early birthday present to myself. :X
Anyway, just today they came in the mail and I was super psyched to try them on. I love how they are way more severe and unique than the average pair of black pumps.
Loads of outfits to come with these babies.

dylan

Possibly my favorite Dylan 'song'. It's hard to choose, but it's definitely got a place in my top five. Beautiful stuff. Perfect for listening to just before you fall asleep...

I had a lovely, uncharacteristically busy weekend (aka I didn't take one photo) but now it's back to work. Weekends never seems to last as long as they should...

A little while ago Jillian tagged me to share 10 things about myself so here goes.
1. Lately I've begun using 'dude' in my conversations way more often than it should ever be used. It annoys even myself.
2. My style has multiple personality disorder.
3. This was my favorite editorial for a long time and one of the things that made me realize I was ~in love with fashion~ as cheesy as it sounds.
4. Aside from one or two dresses, I am not at all a fan of the recent Balmain collections- an unpopular opinion in the blogging world.
5. I wish I had a small gap between my two front teeth like Lara Stone does.
6. I'm in love with these chocolates. So good.
7. I've been listening to this song obsessively.

8. I love collecting beautiful quotes.
9. I am very intrigued by violence/murder/murderers/serial killers.
10. Can't think of a 10th thing, so instead I'll share this Chanel guillotine with you. In case you ever run out of things to buy I suppose...

What I had on yesterday.

h&m scarf and tank, target blazer, selfmade vest, f21 leggings, guess boots from solestruck, jenny yuen gia bag

This new bag I received from Nichole over at Jenny Yuen really made the outfit. The gold chain and size reminds me of a Chanel 2.55 only much cuter and without the mediocre celebrity association. It looks lovely worn as a clutch too.
