pdx adventures

Miss Elizabeth is in P-town for the month of June, so yesterday I took her around town to check out some vintage and thrift shops in the city. I did a half-ass job documenting our day, but we got photos of the important stuff (like um, CHANEL ANKLE WALLETS).
After donuts, we checked out this vintage shop, Avalon. Definitely a must visit if you're in Portland. They had the most incredible selection of vintage watches. Check out the shrapnel case on the watch front and center. So pretty.

They also had this insane Jean Paul Gautier bustier from the eighties. Find of the day, seriously. I feel like Luxirare would rock this out like no other.

Blahblah mediocre thrifting and then fish and chips.

Then we hit up Nordstroms and fondled all the Dries, Lanvin and Chanel we could get our hands on and wondered where these Lanvin-wearing Portlanders were. They've got to exist, right?

Marni leather parka. Enough said.

Lanvin velvet shrug. Felt better than butter.

$3,000 (on sale) Chanel sequin blazer. No big deal. Scratch that- big fucking deal.

Intense lust.

Elizabeth's got more photos, including one of a Dries dress that was heartbreaking to take off. Check it out.

i love the shrug and the blazer. i like the shinyness of the blazer because it's not overly shiny, but still a little flashy. the shrug looks really soft :)

1. I may just have to make my own ankle wallet. I would wear it biking. It would be amazing. And useful. And amazing.

2. You always have such great depth of field in your photos. What kind of camera/lens do you use?

3. Thanks.

sounds like you had a BRILLIANT time; i agree, Luxirare would wear that bustier as nonchalantly as i would wear a t-shirt!

the velevet shrug looks great as does that fantastic blazer!

stupid recession/insufficient funds/general student poverty etc :)

one problem though... i have NEVER seen fish and chips with skinny fries!!! a bit biased as a londoner... i like the chips thick and patatoe-y

LOVE your blog!

The bustier is mad, dangling blades and nipple bobbles, surely a wardrobe essential

Loren said...

Your day sounded great and the clothes are amazing too, but -and I mean this in the best of ways- the whole post feels as if it was written by somebody else, it lacks the feeling usually portrayed by your blog. Hope you're not losing enthusiasm and turning into just another it blogger that forgets its essence.
