This particular photo of Ashley Olsen has been in my mind for a good two months, all the while willing me to make a heather grey maxi skirt of my own. Now that I've got a bit more free time on my hands I gave it a go this morning. It's kind of perfect with this powder blue Clu tee I picked up at Frances May yesterday afternoon. Portlanders, definitely check this store out. They carry Rachel Comey, Alexander Wang, Clu, Duskin and APC to name a few. Here's the link to their online shop too.

That is lovely. I probably should get on my projects, too. Might add this one. =)
i love this color palette! the skirt looks amazing on you--perfect shape and perfect length.
Mmhmm that's really gorgeous. Especially the pose of the last photo, kind of Jazz Age-esque. Very elegant.
Looking at what Livvy said above... are you asian?
Your take on Ashley's look is simply amazing. The fit looks perfect on you.
Adorable.

PS: I'm totally jealous of your design and sewing skills
i feel like we rarely see you in skirts, but it looks amazing on you and i definitely want to copy this look!
xxo
Clever girl.... great to see people willing to have a go at their own clothes (and succeed!)
you should definitely sell these skirts in your store...
i like your version better. its so formfitting but i like the flare on the bottom. gives you such a nice hourglass figure.
like a statue.
amazing look!!
♥
Oh my! I love it! You look amazing in it! I think I may have to give this a try myself! Did you just use a stretch cotton jersey? And cut it pretty much straight down or did you taper it?

You are so extremely talented at DIY. Great skirt. This simple outfit looks amazingly chic and the skirt just so suits you! Jealous? me? VERY. (^_^)
hot, lady. hot.
lovely!!! You did an amazing job!! I am intersted in seeing what you will pair with it... does it look good with sandals, dr martens, or chuck taylors? I always wanted to try it with frye moto boots and a concert tee and a cardi or moto jacket or a hoodie (unzipped/ un buttoned)
That skirt fits you perfectly! Beautiful! :)
i second the anon comment above. i have no sewing experience, and being a single mother, i have no time to learn. please sell these, if you have the time to make more. that would be amazing.

you know, I for a long time hated anything below the knee, but those Olsen's do have a way of changing my mind about things, hehe. I guess I'd just never seen it not in prom dress form before them, ya know?
anyway, you look fantastic, make me one? hehe
tutorial prease for the sewing impaired.
I've always admired Ashley's long skirt outfits as well. You look incredibly chic
Can't wait that summer comes so I can wear my black long skirt with gladiators. Although maybe I should get a grey one too 'cos yours looks cute.

I love it! Is it jersey or plain heavyweight cotton?
it looks amazing i cant believe you made it!!! i dont think i could ever rock a long skirt but you totally can
i love how it fits you like a glove. such a classic.
It's beautiful!

Wow, it's way nicer on you than MK! I really wish I could make something like this!
the cut is interesting. i like how yours is tighter at the thighs

btw, i love your blog. very inspring.
*ashley, excuse me!
You look amazing! and a similar summer 08 look of Ashley's has been on my mind lately as well: the black three quarter length body-con skirt she wore incessantly. Can't wait to wear mine.
xx
I have loved watching your style evolve.
Really nice! I love how it's not too loose! I want something like that in my closet! xoxoxo
glamorous!!!
such a daring look! definitely defines you...love it.
I love it even more now that I know you made it.
Hey!
I love the silhouette created by your full length skirt, very column-like.
I've (sort of) just started a blog with my sister. Would you like to exchange links? I've already added you! I'm a big fan, by the way :]

long and lean, looks amazing
you look fab and so tiny and long! =) love the gray color..you are so very talented
i love the skirt! although I think it would look better with a black shirt like ashley. I want one for myself
LOVELY LOVELY OUTFIT!
The grey colors are awesome!
... everything is awesome ;)
that is a lovely lovely skirt. though since im short, im always afraid to wear things so long that i might just melt into it. it wont be me wearing the clothes but rather the clothes wearing me. but since this skirt, and the skirt ashley is wearing looks so nice, i think im gonna find a pair. you should make some more skirts with an inseam of 27". heh.

Gorgeous! Unfortunately I don't think hips and this skirt would go very well together, so I don't think this is anything us mere mortals will be able to pull off any time soon. :(
http://mirth-thehouseof.blogspot.com/
I'm also backing this for your etsy store. The skirt is gorgeously simple. I don't know if you answer questions but I certainly hope you do since I'm curious, how long did you make that skirt?
Ah this is wonderful, so elegant! Do you think you could perhaps post a tutorial?

Camille! Just a suggestion for your Etsy shop...you know how like a billion years ago you made that sling bag out of that kind of woolly material (it was the one you said accidentally got caught on the machine and became gathered)...well I was think it would be great if you made the bag for Etsy because I'd definitely buy it!! x x.
